Relay
For Life is the American Cancer Society's national signature
activity.
Relay
For Life is an event that raises money to fight cancer
and raise awareness of cancer in our community! Across America,
there were over 4300 Relay for Life events in 2004! This team
event has families, schools, companies, hospitals, and other community
groups create teams of 8 to 15 people who take turns walking around
a track all night to raise money to fight cancer.
The Nation's
Largest Non-Profit Fundraising Event. In 2004, more than 3 million
people participated and 500,000 cancer survivors walked the opening
laps. The Relay raised $265 million at 4,300+ sites throughout
the United States and took place in more than 10 other countries
evolving into a worldwide movement to end cancer. And we look
forward to 2005!
Because cancer is a
top health concern of Americans, Relay participants develop a
special bond with the event as their way to fight cancer. As a
Relay sponsor, you will be able to connect to your community in
a very special way.
